Tamara J. Gerten

Tamara J. Gerten joined Gerten and Van Valkenburg, P.A. in 1989IMG_1158 (1).

Ms. Gerten’s knowledge and experience in drafting wills and trusts; probate and estate administration; and providing tools for planning for incapacity are essential in achieving the best outcome for her clients.

Ms. Gerten attended Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, as an undergraduate, where she majored in Business Administration and graduated in 1983. Ms. Gerten earned her J.D. and graduated cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law in 1988. She was admitted to the Minnesota Bar and has practiced law for over 28 years in the Twin Cities Metro area. Ms. Gerten is active within the legal community as the co-chair of the Ramsey County Bar Association Estate and Trust section and a contributing member of the Minnesota Association of Guardians and Conservators (MAGiC).

Ms. Gerten is active in the local community and has served as a board member for several non-profit organizations. She supports and has been involved with the Girl Scouts for over 15 years. She has also held leadership positions at Arlington Hills Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Church of the Way.

In her free time, Ms. Gerten enjoys spending time with family and is active in the outdoors. She is an avid biker, hiker, and skier.  She also revels in finding time to read and travel.
